Boomtown Fair, the perfect place for a Hoo Ha

Friday 10 June 2011

Today we have been making a Hoo Ha about... Super 8 camera's!!

This is a little video that we have made. Experimenting with stop frame animation using a Braun nizo super 8 camera. Straight out of the sev's, how cool?!

Untitled from Amelia Beaver on Vimeo.

The ducks at the end of the film are seen with an Egyptian Goose that has lived in our village for three years. Unfortunately the poor little thing got lost on the way home and has never had any friends :(
Then what luck, 30 seconds remaining on the film stock (Approximately) and the goose had friends!! Had to film it, just had to. It's our favourite bit :)

The Furry Hoo Ha in all its glory!!

It has come to our attention that felt is pretty damn awesome. Easy to make and ethically sound, felt is all you need to make a style statement. As it is obviously the summer of the play suit, we have decided that a felted play suit is the way to go. Inspired by those gloriously warm summer night skies, Hoo Ha have designed the ultimate play suit for the girl who likes to stay out late. Figure hugging and fun, our furry Hoo Ha!

and here it is...

Actually, this is just a photo that went a bit wrong but we love it and it is also a better representation of the colours than in the following images. Hoo Ha needs a better camera!!

This is the finished garment.

We love, love, love the rough and ready look to this piece. It is unlike anything we have seen before and is totally unique. With only one Furry Hoo Ha made in the world, its a real treat for a girl who want's to stand out!
Made with hand made felt that is smooth and luxurious to the touch, combined with a tactile Organic Hessian to give it that little bit of "Edge". The "Furry Hoo Ha" promises to keep your conscience clear and your body adorned in heavenly texture and colour.
After the Fashion show at Plymouth college of Art and Design We will post images of the "Furry Hoo Ha" on the run way along side the up and coming talent of the south west's fashion students.
If you are going to be in Plymouth on the 23rd and 24th of June and want to see the Furry Hoo Ha in action, then you can purchase tickets to the event from Plymouth college of Art and Design Shop. Tickets cost approximately £4.50. Bargain!!

Hope you like it, any questions then please don't hesitate to contact Hoo Ha at hooha2011@live.co.uk.

This week we have been making a Hoo Ha about...

Ethical Fashion!

Large Clunky Colorful Telephone Wire BraceletsAvailable from http://www.giftswithhumanity.com/category-s/33.htm
We think these chunky telephone wire bracelets would look great with our "Furry Hoo Ha"! Image to follow in next post :)

we at Hoo Ha have been trawling the web and Blogger in particular to try and find the most amazing and of course irresistibly attractive Eco Fashion sites for you to drool over. The first wonderful site we have found is called Up cycle Magazine and it offers projects for you to do at home, Jewellery and clothing, Eco friendly gardening tips and a wealth of knowledge! Check it out...

The next is a blog called Eco Goddess Fashion and they link to a myriad of Eco friendly fashion houses and are always raising awareness and holding charity events. They are all about fair trade, which is obviously great!

We have found a link to a site called Best Green Blogs. It's all in the name really.

Even though the above link should give you more than enough to be going on with we thought we would shed light on a few more. One of the more interesting blogs we have found goes by the name of Regenerate and like she says on her blog. She is aiming to make the world a little happier and a lot better dressed. We love it!!

If its Eco friendly Jewellery, Clothing or even an Eco friendly business directory you are looking for, then look no further than Happy Hippie The links are down the main page and to the right hand side is an amazing selection of everything Eco friendly to choose from. Big smiles all round for this one!!

We hope to have given you enough fodder to chew with this little lot. Now to get posting about Our "Furry Hoo Ha" Images to be posted shortly. Yey!!

This week we have been making a Hoo Ha about...

Finishing the "Furry Hoo Ha" and London Graduate Fashion Week!!

Oh my goodness, we have finished the garment and it looks great! Sorry we didn't get to post a picture of the finished felt but, we can assure you it looks amazing! As soon as the images are available, they will be posted.

Hoo Ha have been given the opportunity to go to Graduate fashion week in London. We are defiantly going to go and support our fellow designer from the Plymouth College of Art and Design. Robert Tarasek is a student in his third year of the fashion BA. He has been short listed to win the "This Morning"'s, Graduate designer of the year competition and win a prize to work for George at ASDA. Here is the link so you can check out his work and vote for him!! The voting box is about a quarter of the way down the page on the right hand side of the page. Only telling you coz it took Hoo Ha about a million years to find it and now were old and grey:) You can vote until 8pm on wednesday the 8th of June.
